6 Tanglewood Drive

A small single-story house with a basement. It was the game’s first map and usually makes for a quick investigation: it has plenty of hiding and looping spots, well spread out.

A schematic plan, without doors or windows: each shape is a room as the game counts it (the Ouija Board, Ghost Orbs and the ghost room use these boundaries). The fuse box spawns in one of the marked spots.

Misleading rooms

The game splits some rooms differently from how they look. It matters for the Ouija Board, Ghost Orbs and the ghost room.

  • The Master Bedroom includes the closet next to it; its Ensuite is a separate room.
  • The Foyer covers the hallway from the front door to the archway into the Living Room, plus the parallel hallway that connects the Hobby Room, Nancy’s Room and the Main Bathroom.
  • The Dining Room includes the corridor that connects the Kitchen, the Basement and the Utility Room.
  • From the Basement the ghost can make a short roam to another floor.

From Intermediate up, a 3-player game gets 1 more and a 4-player game, 2 more.

  • Every closet has slatted doors: from inside you can watch the ghost hunt, standing or crouching, and it can’t see you. That makes this one of the easiest maps for identifying ghosts on lower difficulties.

Where to loop the ghost

  • You can loop the ghost around the train table in the Basement, the dining table, the car in the Garage or the coffee table in the Living Room.
  • If you need to, hide behind the car or crouch behind the dining table. Next to the train table you can watch a crawling ghost without being seen.

Cursed possessions

Where each cursed possession spawns when the contract has one.

  • Haunted Mirror

On the wall next to the Master Bedroom door, in the Foyer.

  • Music Box

    In the Master Bedroom closet.

  • Ouija Board

On the train table in the Basement.

  • Summoning Circle

    In the Basement.

  • Tarot Cards

On the table next to the couch in the Living Room.

  • Voodoo Doll

In front of the big teddy bear in Nancy’s Room.

  • Monkey Paw

On the wheelbarrow in the Garage.

Tips

  • With a Video Camera you can look for Ghost Orbs in the Hobby Room through the window before you even go in.
  • Because of a bug, some cabinet doors in the Kitchen and the Utility Room have their fingerprints inside the door model, so they look like they have none. You can still see them with a Photo Camera or Video Camera while shining a UV Light on them.
  • Bone: They spawn randomly anywhere the ghost can walk, but never in the Ensuite.

Trivia

  • It was the first map ever made.
  • There’s a potato hidden in one of the kitchen cabinets: a nod to the content creator PsychoHypnotic.
